‘Ramblings’ BBC Radio 4 – Mindful Walking
by Oli Cheadle
Mindfulness teacher Kate Kirkwood was featured on this week’s episode of ‘Ramblings’, a BBC Radio 4 show where interviews take place whilst walking through a landscape. Mindful walking, Buddhism and more discussed here.
‘[While practising walking meditation] we can’t stop ourselves thinking… the thing to do is to not get carried away with those thoughts and to not follow them. So just notice those thoughts are coming up and then just let them go again. And don’t feel that you’re failing because thoughts are pinging up now and again because they’re going to, that’s just quite normal. Just concentrate… on each footfall… as your foot makes contact with the earth.’
Thanks to my mum for flagging this up.

Thank you for sharing. I must check out this Kate Kirkwood. We share the same last name and have a lot in common.
Glad it was of interest!
Sitting 17 floors up in an Asian towerblock, listening to barefoot walking on Radio4 – love it. Thanks for flagging up this series.
